Agree on definitions first
Choose metrics that fit your business model and label them clearly. Recurring revenue is different from bookings or cash collected. State the reporting period, currency, and source so a reader can compare like with like.
Show cash and the operating picture
Present cash alongside the burn definition you use. Explain major one-off expenses or collections that change the period. A runway estimate should make clear whether it assumes the current burn rate or a planned change.
Explain growth, not just the percentage
A percentage can conceal a small base, a seasonal pattern, or a change in measurement. Pair the trend with a short explanation of its drivers. Do not switch metrics merely because a different one looks more favorable.
Keep the history readable
Maintain a stable reporting cadence and preserve earlier updates. In TenX, review the metric snapshot included with the narrative. An investor should be able to see both the current picture and how your understanding has changed.
